I think everyone knows I really love the beautiful Austin organ that is in the sanctuary, and I am (we all are) so lucky to have a wonderful choir that offers its musical gifts to God. I have been teaching at Smith College for 31 years now, and for the first 28 years I played at the Helen Hills Hills Chapel, both for the Protestant and Roman Catholic services. Though it was great to play for the Smith students (who are always 17-21 years old,) it is so satisfying to see many generations worshiping, working, and celebrating together throughout the year. Coordinating choral music with the Church Year cycle was a new thing for me, as was rehearsing and conducting a choir. Now after several years, I always look forward to making music with them at our Thursday night rehearsals and Sunday mornings at the 10 am worship service.
